What file types can I use?+
PDFs, photos (JPG, PNG, HEIC), any PDF or photo in your Google Drive, audio recordings (MP3, M4A, WAV and more), and YouTube links. More formats coming soon — reply to your welcome email and tell us what you want next.
Can I transcribe audio or YouTube videos?+
Yes. Upload an audio recording and PaperTalk transcribes it with speaker labels, or paste a YouTube link and we'll pull its captions — then you can chat with the transcript like any other document. Free includes 60 transcription minutes per month; Pro includes 600 (10 hours).
Can I ask questions about a meeting or video?+
Absolutely. Once a recording or video is transcribed, you chat with it like any other document — ask for action items, decisions, a summary, or who said what, and every answer is cited back to the transcript.
Is my data private?+
Yes. Your documents are stored securely and we never use them to train AI models. You can delete your files anytime.
What's the page limit?+
Free accounts can upload up to 5 documents — PDFs up to 25 pages each, or photos. Pro unlocks 50 documents, with PDFs up to 100 pages each.
How accurate are the answers?+
Answers are cited directly from your document text. We show you exactly which page each claim comes from so you can verify. Always double-check important decisions.
Can I cancel anytime?+
Yes. No contracts, no commitment. Cancel your Pro subscription anytime and you'll keep access until the end of your billing period.
Do you store my files?+
Yes, your files are stored encrypted in our European data center so you can access them across sessions. You can delete any file anytime.
What languages are supported?+
For reading documents (PDFs and photos), PaperTalk works with most major languages — anything our AI can read. For audio and YouTube transcription, we automatically detect the spoken language and support major languages including English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Russian, Hindi, and Japanese — English is the most accurate, and speaker labels work across all of them.
Is there an API?+
Not yet — but it's on the roadmap. Let us know if you'd use one.
Can I chat with multiple documents at once?+
Not yet. Each chat is focused on a single document for accuracy. Multi-document support is coming.
What if my document is a scan or a photo of a page?+
PaperTalk reads scanned PDFs and photos using AI vision — handwritten notes, textbook pages, receipts, even menus in foreign languages. If the text is readable to a human eye, PaperTalk can chat about it.
